Awesome! I really want to read You Exist Too Much. And I love a good book sale! The libraries near me have shops open a lot of the time with donated books that are only a dollar. I find some of the best stuff there and at the local thrift store that sells most of their books for 50 cents

I just read The Prospects and it has absolutely become my new favorite book! I have never ever related so hard to a character and you can also tell that the author is a trans man bc there's so much in Gene's character that is so so real. It's also such a happy heartwarming depiction of trans queer joy and trans folks finding a place in professional sports. AND i cant forget the ADHD + anxiety rep! I could truly yell about that book forever lmao oh also the audiobook is really good! the author narrates and its so well done

oh i also loved Icebreaker but i didnt realize they had written another book!! definitely gonna check that one out too

I just finished a sapphic Christmas novel called Make the Season Bright by Ashley Herring Blake and it was awesome! Second-chance romance between musicians.

I've been thinking about reading Lucky Red! I'm also not a westerns person, but I loved Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey and thought that their American Hippo duology was fun. Lucky Red seems like it would be similar!

There's actually 5 books in the Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo. I highly recommend the audiobooks for that series. Even though they are novellas, and not long to read, I think hearing the story read aloud lends itself to Cleric Chi being a storyteller.

I love the Singing Hills Cycle and reading them with the audiobook is the way to go in my opinion. I think I'd be mispronouncing the names of all the characters otherwise as well! LOL that spinner wheel would not let you win!! Glad it was a successful weekend of reading and belated congrats to your team!

I'm so impressed by how much you read during Faceoff! Recently I finished (and surprisingly loved) the new Carley Fortune, This Summer Will Be Different. Currently reading Someone You Can Build a Nest In, which is horror-ish, but also strangely cozy. Loving that one, too, honestly.

I picked up The House on Sunrise Lagoon series last month based on your recommendations and it is so awesome! I have Halfway to Harbor left to read, and the other two were just so sweet and such a good escapist read while also dealing with real emotions and experiences of kids. I felt like the tiny version of myself was very seen! 😊

after doing so well with reading what i own during TAR, I want to make sure that i continue to read my owned TBR. ESPECIALLY my BOTM books. so i have about 4 of them I want to get to. At the same time, I want to stop putting off some of my library holds I've been avoiding lol. I'm full of contradictions.

I'm hoping to focus on books that have been on my TBR for a long time in July! liek im thinking of picking up The Black Veins finally!

These are great recommendations. I am really interested in checking out Where We Go From Here. Are you sure it was translated from Spanish? I had thought it was a Brazilian author and assumed it was originally in Portuguese. Not to be nitpicky but I'm just looking for more queer Portuguese-language books to enjoy for my language studies. I tend to listen to translated works in audiobook format in english while reading the portuguese original. I recently did that while reading a Vitor Martins book and it was fun.

I'm new to your channel, you just came up on my recommendeds for the day, but one of my all-time favorite queer audiobooks is Aristotle and Dante as read by Lin-Manuel Miranda. He does such a fantastic job. 💚 I'm sure that's no secret to anyone in the space, but yeah I loved it so much

Great video! I read The Charm Offensive on audio and loved it! I crochet and craft a lot while listening to books, but they also help a lot when I'm doing chores.

Alex - you have phenomenal taste! so many of these are favorites of mine. I love reading from indigenous folks and poetry on audio whenever I can. I feel like it is so much more impactful and immersive and I get all the tone, pronunciation and emotion that the author intended.
